24 x 18 Acrylic on canvas board. My work has been described as esoteric, ephemeral and nostalgic and in this piece I have attempted to capture all of those qualities. It was fun to do so I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I did painting it.
I revisited the painting as I had described a lot of people movement and the solitary soldier with a back pack did not seem to promote the movement so he has been replaced with a group in transit. Its part of the process I have as over time there are several reviews and changes made as someone told me once "its not finished until you say its finished" and this is a regime that I have followed over the years.
Born in London England and transplanted in Wichita Kansas USA in 1995. Married with two adult daughters who both live in Wichita also. I have painted for many years originally with water colour but have used acrylics for some time now as you can achieve similar effects as water colours but with faster drying times. I like to take photographs of urban life i.e. buildings, people, transport and use these as the basis for the artwork. More recently since adopting the rescue horse Summer I have painted abstract and representational paintings of horses. My interpretation will use complimentary colours as a rule but do sometimes use the colours that are represented in the photograph. I have donated art to local charities who have sold them at auction. This is my first blog so I will use it to show current work in progress and finished pieces that may be purchased; if interested in purchasing any art pieces please visit the link to fineartamerica in the blog list on this page.
